About Me

I’m Ioanna, the artist behind iwillisart. After a lifetime of painting and a couple of years of building this practice, I’m more committed than ever to creating bold, expressive work in acrylics and velvety oils. Painting has become both my discipline and my way of moving through the world.

My Middle Eastern and European roots, along with the creative influence of my family, shape the way I understand color, form, and movement. That blend appears throughout my work — large, assertive florals, close‑up perspectives, and pieces that feel alive with energy and emotion.

Before I ever picked up a brush, I was drawn to observing the natural world. As a child, I photographed every tree, flower, and landscape I encountered. On one camping trip, I borrowed my brother’s Rolleiflex and returned with rolls of nature studies — not a single photo of people. That instinct to focus on detail and quiet beauty continues to guide my work today.

Running iwillisart has been a meaningful evolution. I’m continually exploring new ideas, experimenting with technique, and expanding my visual language. I look forward to sharing each new chapter as my practice grows.
